This content will show you how to secure your BOXTradEx account by using Google Authenticator apps to set up Two-factor Authentication (2FA) for specified account actions. By enabling Google Authenticator functions, it will improves account security by adding a second authentication method in addition to your sign-in password for signing in to BOXTradEx.

What is Google Authenticator?

Google Authenticator is a mobile application that mainly used for signing in, trading, depositing or withdrawing funds by verifying user account, it will generates a 6-8 digit code every 30 seconds.

Enable Google 2FA is Better to Protect Your Account

Google 2FA as a second firewall helps user to protect account against attackers, on root of additional authentication code, attacker would not only need your username and password, but also need your 2FA code to sign in account or complete other actions.

BOXTradE recommends that all user should utilize Google 2FA for protecting account!!

For example, if your email account is compromised, an attacker could request BOXTradEx and reset your account password through your email. By enabling 2FA for further protection would prevent that attacker from successfully signing in even after possessing username and password.

However, if you misuse the code on a phishing website or share it with a scammer, the protection of 2FA will be struck down.

How to Set up Google Authenticator?

1. Download Google Authenticator APP. (iOS, Android)

2. Sign in BOXTradEx APP. (or sign up BOXTradEx)

3. Click on “Me” icon in the upper-right corner of homepage.

4. Click on Security Center and enable Google Authenticator.

5. Enter the verification code which received by email or SMS.

6. Copy and paste the 2FA account key into your Google Authenticator.

7. Enter the verification code generated by Google Authenticator.

8. Congrats! You are enabling the Google 2FA function.

Note: When syncing your account with Google Authenticator, you need to editing the name to display “BOXTradEX” which is correlated to your BOXTradEx account in Google Authenticator App.
